Marshall County awarded in next round of FSSA early childhood education grants

More than $239,000 in funding will increase capacity, high-quality education across the county

Marshall County – Indiana’s Office of Early Childhood and Out-of-School Learning recently awarded early education capacity-building grants to 12 applicants representing 29 pre-kindergarten programs in 12 Indiana counties. The Marshall County Early Childhood Coalition was awarded $239,744.56.

Lilly Endowment GIFT VII Initiative Launch

$500,000 Match Program Will Strengthen Marshall County 

The Marshall County Community Foundation has received a grant of $500,000 as part of Lilly Endowment Inc.’s seventh phase of its Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow (GIFT) initiative. With GIFT VII, the Endowment is making up to $125 million available to help Indiana community foundations strengthen the towns, cities and counties they serve.

Foundation Awards $96,293 in Grants

The Marshall County Community Foundation announced the second round of 2018 grants from the Foundation’s Community Fund during an awards presentation held Wednesday, October 17, 2018, in Plymouth, Indiana. Twice each year, nonprofit organizations are invited to submit proposals for new, innovative and collaborative projects.

Marshall County Community Foundation Offering 1:1 Match to Help Flood Survivors

Fall Community Fund Grant Round Will Give Special Attention to Flood-Related Projects

In response to overwhelming need, the MCCF is offering a 1:1 match up to $135,000 for private sector 2018 flood relief donations to the United Way of Marshall County (UWMC). This 1:1 match is retroactive, to the very first days after the flood, and will include donations already received designated to flood recovery.

Culver Children’s Author Returns Home to Share Uplifting Story

A grant from the Marshall County Community Foundation during the fall 2017 grant round helped the CASA of Marshall County to buy 100 copies of the children’s book, Samuel T. Moore of Corte Magore to give to children in the CASA program and to place in all of Marshall County public and elementary school libraries.

The Marshall County Promise program has a unique opportunity to double the giving power of local supporters by participating in the #SpringIntoSavings 1:1 Fund match program from Monday, March 19 to Friday, March 23. Marshall County Promise is a cutting-edge program that helps youth in all Marshall County public school systems dream about their future careers and save for education beyond high school.

Marshall County Community Foundation Announces First Bowen Family Medical Scholarship Recipient

Jesse Gettinger of Bremen has been named recipient of the first Bowen Family Medical Scholarship. The scholarship honors the legacy of Dr. Otis Bowen, with the hope to encourage primary care physicians to practice in medically under-served rural Hoosier communities. Improving the quality of life for residents in our local communities is part of the mission of the Marshall County Community Foundation.

Volunteers to Count Homeless Families in Marshall County

Point-in-Time Count to occur county-wide January 24

The Marshall County Community Foundation and United Way of Marshall County are working with the local faith community, the Grace and Peace Alliance, Ministerial Association, nonprofit agencies, the Beaman Home, businesses and volunteers to conduct a survey to collect data on homelessness and housing insecurities in Marshall County.
