The Bourbon High School Alumni Association established a scholarship fund with the MCCF on June 30, 2008, for the purpose of providing an annual scholarship for up to four high school seniors from Bourbon township.

Alumni association committee members who recommended establishment of the Fund with MCCF were Frances (Carter) Berkey, president; Mary (Miner) Hartle, vice president; Carolyn (Schaetzle) Hanley, treasurer; and members Clifford Leiter, Will Erwin and Anita Eckert.

INCREASED MATCHING GIFT OPPORTUNITY NOW AVAILABLE FOR NOT-FOR-PROFITS THROUGH GENERATIONS INITIATIVE

The Board of Directors of the Marshall County Community Foundation recently doubled the amount of a matching gift opportunity for new or existing not-for-profit permanent agency endowment fund holders through the program known as the Generations Initiative.

Every qualifying dollar contributed will now be matched with another half-dollar (50 cents), allowing donors the opportunity to substantially increase their support for local not-for-profit charities.  The previous amount was twenty-five cents (25 cents) per dollar and qualified donations received during that time will be given the additional matching funds.

NOMINATIONS SOUGHT FOR
LEADERSHIP MARSHLL COUNTY'S
LEADER OF THE YEAR AWARD

Leadership Marshall County (LMC), a program of the Marshall County Community Foundation and the United Way of Marshall County, requests nominations for the Leader of the Year Award which recognizes an individual who exemplifies outstanding leadership in Marshall County.  The award recipient will receive an engraved plaque and an award check in the amount of $500 to the not-for-profit organization of their choice.

VALENTINE'S SCHOLARSHIP DINNER

The Marshall County Community Foundation invites the public to attend the Chad E. Pearson Valentine’s Dinner, Dance and Silent Auction on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the F.O.P. Lodge, 1825 E. 12th St., Mishawaka, Indiana.

The event is in honor of Chad Pearson, a student at IU South Bend who was studying in London when he was struck by a car and killed in 1994.  Proceeds from the event will fund a scholarship for the Knute Rockne Kiwanis Club with the Marshall County Community Foundation.
