The Marshall County Community Foundation (MCCF) and the United Way of Marshall County (UWMC) seek an experienced, outgoing self-starter to partner with the Executive Director of both organizations and the MCCF Director of Development and Communications and the Director of Organizational Development for UWMC in contributing to the mission and vision of MCCF and UWMC by helping to nurture a culture of philanthropy in Marshall County. Generating increased charitable capital for the community via gifts to both organizations are key.

The ideal candidate for this position will be a hands-on person experienced in developing and implementing charitable giving/sales strategies. The successful candidate must be able to quickly and easily develop relationships and have a demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups.

Responsibilities will include working with prospective donors to find the philanthropic tools and avenues best suited to their charitable interests and supporting annual MCCF fundraising and UWMC campaign goals through identifying, cultivating and securing donations from individuals and organizations for outright or planned gifts. Building beneficial and lasting corporate and individual relationships, increasing the effectiveness of volunteer engagement and recruitment, and growing Resources Under Management (RUM) are focus areas for the new position. The Donor Relations Officer will be deeply embedded in the fabric and communities of Marshall County.

Excellent communication and organizational skills are required; strong computer proficiencies are preferred.

The Donor Relations Officer must be intentional and diligent in completing tasks and possess a high level of integrity and professional maturity. Candidates should have at least three years successful experience in fundraising or sales, donor cultivation or client relations, preferably for a nonprofit organization, or equivalent years of experience in related disciplines such as estate planning, financial planning, wealth advisor, bank or trust marketing and/or administration. A Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing, finance, or related field is preferred.
