Samuel Elliott Perkins IV Memorial Scholarship

The Samuel Elliott Perkins IV Memorial Scholarship was created through an estate gift from Mary Collins Perkins in memory of her husband for the purpose of providing scholarships to Marshall County resident students pursuing a degree from Purdue University.

THE AWARD - 2023/2024 SCHOOL YEAR

The amounts of scholarships and the numbers of winners will depend on the number and quality of applicants. The 2024 scholarship winners will receive a one-time scholarship. Additional money will be available in the following years. Students reapplying for a scholarship should note the eligibility requirements.

APPLICATION DUE DATES

Applications for high school graduates are due Friday, March 29th, 2024

Applications for students currently attending Purdue are due by 11:95 pm Wendesday, May 15th, 2024 by 11:59 pm  
  

ELIGIBILITY:

CRITERIA FOR GRADUATING HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS:

  • Senior graduating from Marshall County, Indiana High School or homeschooled with a Marshall County residence.
  • Must be accepted and plan to attend Purdue University as a full-time student (any campus) in the fall semester following high school senior graduation. 
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher (high school transcript must be provided) OR minimum SAT score of 1050 or ACT score of 22.
  • The scholarship is non-renewable, although students may apply each year.

CRITERIA FOR CURRENT PURDUE STUDENTS:

  • Must be either a permanent Marshall County resident or a previous winner of the Perkins scholarship.
  • Must be a full-time student attending Purdue University (any campus) seeking a Purdue degree.
  • Must have a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA (most recent transcript must be provided).
  • May not receive the scholarship more than 4 times total (Scholarship award does not have to be consecutive years and may extend past four years if pursuing veterinary science or a pharmacy degree).
  • The scholarship is non-renewable, although students may apply each year.
