What
We Do
The Marshall
County Community Foundation is a vehicle for people of all means
to contribute to their community. You may establish your names
fund and the foundation will find a way to target exactly the kind
of charity that suits your desires and to make every dollar count
for the maximum good. You may also contribute to the general
endowment of the Foundation to help a variety of charitable needs.
A community
foundation does not conduct programs of its own, but supports new
and existing programs of nonprofit organizations. Its general endowment
fund is not used to provide grants for operating funds, but instead
the income is used as a flexible and timely source of funds to meet
the ever changing needs of our community.
A community
foundation represents a wide variety of ideas and interests of individual
donors who have united with a common purpose -- the betterment of
the community both now and in the future. Thus, a community
foundation serves both donors and charitable needs.
Community foundations
are organized to function independently of their owners and because
public support is continually sought, they are classified by the
Internal Revenue Service as PUBLIC CHARITIES. As a result,
their contributors receive the most favorable tax treatment the
law provides for charitable gifts.
Whatever your
charitable intentions, there
are many ways to make a gift through the Marshall County Community
Foundation -- cash, securities, life insurance, real estate and
other tangible property, bequests, etc. All gifts to the Marshall
County Community Foundation will help to make our community a better
place to live.
