Samuel Elliott Perkins IV Memorial Scholarship
The Samuel Elliott Perkins IV Memorial Scholarship was created through an estate gift from Mary Collins Perkins in memory of her husband for the purpose of providing scholarships to Marshall County resident students pursuing a degree from Purdue University.
THE AWARD - 2023/2024 SCHOOL YEAR
The amounts of scholarships and the numbers of winners will depend on the number and quality of applicants. The 2023 scholarship winners will receive a one-time scholarship. Additional money will be available in the following years. Students reapplying for a scholarship should note the eligibility requirements.
APPLICATION DUE DATES
Applications for high school graduates are due Thursday, March 16th, 2023 by 4:30 pm
- Postmarked or delivered in person to the Marshall County Community Foundation office, at 2680 Miller Dr. Suite 120, Plymouth, IN 46563, or P.O. Box 716.
Applications for students currently attending Purdue are due Friday, May 19th, 2023 by 4:30 pm

ELIGIBILITY:
INCOMING FRESHMEN SCHOLARSHIP - ELIGIBILITY AND DIRECTIONS
1. The applicant must be accepted to Purdue University as a full time student for the fall of 2023 in
pursuit of a Purdue diploma.
2. The applicant must be a permanent resident of Marshall County.
3. The applicant must have a minimum combined SAT score of 1050 for Critical Reading and Math
or a minimum ACT score of 22. If SAT scores or ACT scores are not available, your class rank and GPA will be used.
4. The applicant must complete and provide the following information on the
“Students Graduating High School” form for the Perkins scholarship. Be sure to include the following:
a. A certified high school transcript
b. SAT and ACT scores
c. Signed statements and agreements
d. Known scholarships that you will be receiving
5. Due Thursday, March 16th, 2023.
STUDENTS CURRENTLY ATTENDING PURDUE – ELIGIBILTY AND DIRECTIONS
1. The applicant must be a Marshall County resident or a past Perkins scholarship recipient.
2. The applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
3. The applicant must be entering the fall semester as a sophomore, junior, or senior.
4. The applicant may only be eligible for undergraduate degrees and may apply for the
Perkins for 3 sequential years following their freshmen year.
5. The applicant must complete and provide the following information on the
“Students Currently Attending Purdue” Perkins scholarship form. Be sure to include the following:
a. Current Purdue transcript including spring grades
b. Signed statements and agreements
c. Known scholarships that you will be receiving
6. Due Friday, May 19th, 2023.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE SAMUEL ELLIOTT PERKINS IV MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
The high school graduating senior applicant must complete or provide the following information:
Samuel Elliott Perkins IV Scholarship Application Form (for high school graduating seniors)
Certified High School Transcript with grades through the first semester or second trimester of the senior year.
SAT or ACT score certified by school official.
Signed statements and agreements attached to the application form.
Final candidates may be asked to appear for an interview.
The Marshall County student currently attending Purdue University applicant must complete or provide the following information:
Samuel Elliott Perkins IV Scholarship Application Form (for students currently attending Purdue University)
Transcript with grades through the most recent semester completed.
Signed statements and agreements attached to the application form.
SCHOLARSHIP ADVISORY COMMITTEE – PURDUE ALUMNI CLUB OF MARSHALL COUNTY
The Purdue Alumni Club of Marshall County is serving as the Scholarship Advisory Committee. The Purdue Alumni Club of Marshall County supports local student scholarships and sponsors various activities for academic and athletic events.
