12/15/09 --
Jennifer S. Maddox has been named President and CEO of the Marshall
County Community Foundation (MCCF) and John Zeglis has transitioned
to Chairman of the Board of Directors. At its meeting on December
3, 2009, the Board of Directors formally adopted bylaw changes that
allows for Maddox’s title change from Executive Director and defines
Zeglis’s role as Board Chairman.
Commenting on the changes, Zeglis stated that "the new titles reflect
what has been in operation for some time and are more contemporary
with other community foundations in the State."
The Board of Directors also welcomed Joseph K. Goepfrich, CFRE,
to the newly created position of Vice President for Development.
MCCF received funds to pay for the position as part of a Strategic
Resource Development grant from the Lilly Foundation. Goepfrich
will concentrate efforts on increasing community foundation assets
through outright gifts, planned giving and marketing so that, ultimately,
the amount of grant dollars returned to benefit local communities
doubles over the next ten years. He most recently served as Vice
Chancellor for Advancement at Purdue University North Central and
has over twenty years of experience in the fundraising profession.
"I am delighted to be part of the team raising endowment funds that
will ultimately benefit the people in Marshall County," said Goepfrich.
In addition, two other existing staff members have new titles. Jayne
Gibson has been promoted to Vice President for Operations and Deb
Pfledderer to Accounting Manager. Gibson has been with the foundation
for 10 years and Pfledderer joined the staff two years ago.
The mission of the Marshall County Community Foundation is to serve
all of Marshall County, its people and its future through the growth
and administration of endowment funding and philanthropy.
