INCREASED MATCHING GIFT OPPORTUNITY NOW AVAILABLE FOR NOT-FOR-PROFITS THROUGH GENERATIONS INITIATIVE
12/30/2009 -- The Board of Directors of the Marshall County Community Foundation recently doubled the amount of a matching gift opportunity for new or existing not-for-profit permanent agency endowment fund holders through the program known as the Generations Initiative. Every qualifying dollar contributed will now be matched with another half-dollar (50 cents), allowing donors the opportunity to substantially increase their support for local not-for-profit charities. The previous amount was twenty-five cents (25 cents) per dollar and qualified donations received during that time will be given the additional matching funds.
Up to $20,000 in new gifts contributed above a $5,000 initial investment for a not-for-profit permanent agency endowment fund will receive the match. MCCF will provide a maximum of $100,000 of matching funds for the not-for-profit Generations Initiative, awarded on a first come, first served basis through June 30, 2010 or until the remaining available funds are expended. The Generations Initiative applies only to permanent not-for-profit agency endowment funds with MCCF that benefit 501(c)(3) organizations. Non-permanent agency funds may convert to a permanent agency endowment fund and realize the match on all new gifts except for the initial $5,000.
