MARSHALL COUNTY PROMISE PROGRAM PARTICIPATING IN 1:1 FUND MATCH

1:1 match will help and encourage students to save for college

The Marshall County Promise program has a unique opportunity to double the giving power of local supporters by participating in the #SpringIntoSavings 1:1 Fund match program from Monday, March 19 to Friday, March 23. Marshall County Promise is a cutting-edge program that helps youth in all Marshall County public school systems dream about their future careers and save for education beyond high school.

Through the 1:1 Fund, all donations to the Marshall County Promise fund held at the Marshall County Community Foundation (MCCF), will receive a dollar-for-dollar match up to $500, per individual donor. Donations will be used to help local youth open CollegeChoice 529 accounts, with an initial $25 deposit, and to encourage families to contribute to the accounts by providing matching funds.

The Promise program provides Marshall County’s rural students across the county’s public school systems with a unique edge for their post-high school education plans. Through college and career discovery events at Ancilla College, college savings accounts (which may be used for college or any post-secondary educational or career training), and the use of "Champions" who personally and financially invest in youth, the Promise program empowers children to be three times more likely to attend college and four times more likely to graduate.

Marshall County Promise is a partnership between the Marshall County Community Foundation, public schools in Marshall County, Ancilla College, the Marshall County Career Success Coalition and United Way of Marshall County.
