Leadership Marshall CountyLeadership Marshall County
Leadership Marshall County is a community wide effort to identify, motivate, and develop community leaders through education and skills development.

Program Objectives
1. To expand the leadership potential and skills of participants through:

  • Educational programs designed to broaden their knowledge of Marshall County and the critical issues affecting the County;
  • Skill development sessions designed to strengthen those management and supervisory competencies necessary for individual success;
  • Exposure to the existing leadership and civic organizations;
  • In-depth exchanges on relevant issues.
2. To improve communication among leaders by facilitating the expansion of networks within both the public and private sectors of Marshall County.

3. To foster a commitment to a life of community service by providing a channel for participants to gain access to leadership opportunities, and become involved in helping to solve community problems.

Candidate Profile
Twenty-four participants will be selected from Marshall County applicants representing business, public and private agencies and professional organizations. Criteria for candidate selection includes:

  • Community Involvement
  • Diverse background and experience
  • Willingness and ability to assume greater community responsibility

Program Information
Tuition for the program is $300.00, which includes the overnight retreat, all seminars and course materials. Tuition is paid by the participant or sponsor organization. Scholarships are available.

The program begins with an Evening Reception in September and an Orientation/Retreat from 3:00 p.m. Tuesday to 12:00 p.m. Wednesday in late September. The Orientation/Retreat is mandatory for program participants. The remaining eight seminars are held monthly through May of the next year, from 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month.
