MARSHALL COUNTY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES DETAILS FOR THE 2020-21 CHAPMAN WIERS SCHOLARSHIP

The Marshall County Community Foundation (MCCF) is now accepting applications for the 2020-2021 Chapman/Wiers Nursing Scholarship.

The scholarship is open to students who have graduated from a public school corporation in Marshall County – including Argos Community Schools, Bremen Public Schools, Culver Community Schools, John Glenn School Corporation, Plymouth Community School Corporation, Triton School Corporation, and Union-North United School Corporation.

“This new scholarship will support Marshall County nursing students close to completing their degree,” said Linda Yoder, MCCF Executive Director. “Nurses are the backbone of any health system. Every penny invested in nursing raises the wellbeing of people and families in tangible ways that are clear for everyone to see. Around the world nurses are demonstrating their compassion, bravery and courage as they respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. Never before has their value been more clearly demonstrated. This scholarship will help a special student build their nursing and leadership expertise to serve on the frontline in improving health for all.”

Applicants must be a third- or fourth-year student enrolled in a nursing program. Preference will be given to a single parent or student in need and the award may be used for the following priority needs: 1) tuition, 2) housing, or 3) books. An essay will be required of each applicant. The Chapman/Wiers Nursing Scholarship is renewable annually to previous recipients.

Apply using the Marshall County Community Foundation Common Application, which can be downloaded online at marshallcountycf.org/lasting-impact/scholarships.
